The United States history of Knabe pianos goes back to the year of 1837 when William Knabe established the business after years of piano making required in Germany as well as America. A Knabe piano was purchased by President Ruthford B. Hayes for the White House. Knabes have also been used in establishments such as Carnegie Hall as well as the Metropolitan Opera House.
